Our Story
A home that remembers what tired feels like
Naka House was built for the hours between flights — the ones that are too long for the terminal but too short for the city.
Back to HomeWho We Are
Built around the pace of travel, not hotel clocks
Naka House opened its doors in 2019 along Charoen Prathet Road, a quiet stretch of Chiang Mai's riverside district, minutes from the airport. The idea came from a simple frustration: travellers with long layovers had few good choices. The airport terminal was uncomfortable for sleeping, and most hotels in the city required full-day check-ins with no regard for flight schedules.
We designed every room and every policy with a different question in mind — what does a person who has just landed at two in the morning actually need? The answers shaped the house: blackout curtains, early-morning breakfasts, gentle staff, a shuttle that runs to match your flight rather than a fixed timetable.
The name Naka comes from the mythical serpent of Thai culture, a guardian of thresholds and safe passage. It felt right for a place whose whole purpose is to hold travellers safely between one journey and the next.
Our Mission
To give every passing traveller — whether they have two hours or a full night — a room that feels genuinely prepared for them, with nothing left to chance and nothing that feels rushed.
Warmth over efficiency. We want guests to feel looked after, not processed.
Calm over convenience. A stay at Naka House should feel restful, not transactional.
Honesty over promises. We say what is included, what is not, and what to expect.
The People Here

Wipawan Sangwan
Room Preparation
Wipawan keeps every room in the state she would want to find it herself — linen pressed, tray set, curtains drawn correctly for the hour of the guest's arrival.
How We Work
Standards we hold ourselves to, quietly
Room Readiness Protocol
Every room is checked against a written list before each guest arrives — linen, towels, temperature, amenities and blackout fitting. Nothing is assumed to be in order without a direct check.
Guest Safety & Privacy
Rooms are accessed only with guest permission. Personal details collected during booking are kept securely and never shared with third parties beyond what is needed for your transfer.
Food & Beverage Hygiene
Breakfast and meal items are prepared fresh. Tea and coffee stations are refilled and cleaned daily. All food handling follows Thailand's Ministry of Public Health guidelines for small accommodation providers.
Transport Safety
Shuttle vehicles are maintained on a regular service schedule. Drivers hold current Thai driving licences and are familiar with Chiang Mai Airport terminal layouts for both domestic and international arrivals.
TAT-Registered Property
Naka House is registered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand. This registration supports our commitment to operating transparently and meeting the accommodation standards set for guest-facing properties in Chiang Mai.
Guest Feedback Loop
We ask for honest feedback after every stay and review it each week. When the same point is raised more than once, we treat it as an instruction rather than an opinion.
An airport guesthouse in Chiang Mai shaped by the needs of real travellers
The Charoen Prathet Road area of Chiang Mai sits close to the airport, the Night Bazaar and the eastern bank of the Ping River. It is a neighbourhood that moves at a slower pace than the old city, which makes it well suited to accommodation for travellers who need to switch off rather than explore.
Naka House draws on a Thai tradition of hospitality that values attentiveness over formality. A guest should feel that the house has been prepared specifically for them, with practical details handled in advance — the shuttle timed, the breakfast ready, the wake-up call set. This approach is not a selling point; it is simply how we think a working guesthouse should operate.
Whether you are in transit between Chiang Mai and a connecting airport, visiting the city for a short period, or simply arriving at an hour when a full hotel stay would be wasteful, Naka House is designed to give you the rest and the services that the situation actually requires.
